Description:
The village Kryoneri is in the centre of the Corinthian province, at the same distance between sea and mountains. It is built like an amphitheater, at 740 meters altitude and has a panoramic view above the Corinthian Gulf. Mount Vesiza (1.200 m.) overlooks the village and constitutes the natural border with the plain of the Stymfalía lake. From this mountain, the river Elisson spreads and crosses Kryoneri and the evergreen plain, before flowing in the Corinthian Gulf by the town of Kiato.
During this EVS project, young people will help out on:
· supporting schools (working with youngsters, supporting the school activities);
· cleaning&maintaining environmental footpaths around Kryoneri;
· reconstructing a traditional building for educational purposes;
· supporting Kryoneri’s Cultural & Youth Centre
· mosaic workshops
The working methods will be based on non-formal education, active participation and learning by doing. The EVS volunteers will learn by doing in direct contact with other people and target-groups of their working places.
Profile of EVS Volunteer:
– willing to work with children, youngsters
– motivation for group work, understanding & interest of rural life, sensibility with nature, good-will to help, capability for physical work.
The volunteer should be motivated to learn the Greek language since its tasks allow direct contact with our target audience.
It is important that the EVS volunteer has a good relationship skills, initiative, dynamism, creativity and maturity to understand the meaning and aims of European Voluntary Service. It is important to have motivation to cooperate with the Host Organisations in its activities, being aware of the vital contribution towards the community.

The programme will also include exciting activities such as:
– intercultural learning activities (Greek language, Greek dances, Intercultural events, Greek gastronomy…)
– get to know our food culture/Agro-culture
– mountain biking
